LED Illuminated Magnifiers

LED magnifiers that brighten what you are trying to read. Built-in lighting cuts shadows and lifts contrast.

How magnification works

Up to 3x, Large print, newspapers, books · 4x to 10x, Standard reading, labels, maps · 12x to 30x, Fine print, low vision, hobbies · 40x and above, Jewellery, electronics, inspection

LED magnifiers solve a specific problem. The print you want to read is small and the lighting is poor. Adding more magnification alone does not help if your kitchen lamp casts a shadow across the page. The built-in LED puts light exactly where your eye is focused.

When LED is worth the extra cost

If you read at night, work on hobbies under indoor lighting, or have macular degeneration, LED is the difference between giving up and finishing. Daylight bulbs in the room are not enough because the magnifier lens reflects ambient light away. LEDs mounted next to the lens shine through and onto the page without glare.

Battery life and charging

Most modern LED magnifiers use USB rechargeable batteries. Three to five hours per charge is typical. Older models use AA or AAA batteries which are fine for occasional use but cost more over time. Look for rechargeable if you will use it daily.

Brightness and dimming

LED brightness is measured in lumens. For reading, 100 to 300 lumens is enough. For hobby or repair work, 600 to 1000 lumens gives you precise visibility. Dimmable LEDs are useful if you switch between tasks. Bright for stamps, soft for newspaper.
